Masks have a traditional place and are important part of facial treatments. Also known as Face Pack. It is believed ancient civilization discovered that some type of clay, mud and earth had a healing powers. These natural substances give a soft and smooth effect, and aided in the healing of blemishes and wounds. Natural warm springs containing minerals and sulpher were also thought to be highly beneficial to health.

Mask comes in many forms, from classic clay to specialized masks like thermal masks. It can also act as a carrier for an active ingredient such as a plant extract, essential oil, seaweed and so forth. Usually bring used as "finishing" masks, but may be used as "preparatory" mask too.
