Skin Toning : Constituents of Toning Lotions

  • Rose water, Orange Water, Camomile - Flower water, the mildest inredients
  • Witch hazel - A solution of alcohol and water, plus extract from the bark of the witch hazel
  • Glycerine - A humectant and skin softener
  • Ethyl alcohol, Isopropyl alcohol - Alcohols are astringent because of their cooling effect on the skin, which results from their evaporation
  • Zinc Sulphate - Extremely mild astringent
  • Hexachlorohene - antiseptic
  • Menthol, Camphor, Sage - Cooling and refreshing, they are astringent through an irritant effect, triggering the cold sense nerve endings in the skin, which produces a cool sensation
