Facial Massage : Indication & Contra-Indication

Indications of Facial Massage

  • Dry or Dehydrated Skin - Needs stimulatation of cellular function
  • Mature Skin - Regeneration and revitalization is needed to delay signs of aging
  • Sensitive Skin - Skin where gentle stimulation, pH stabilizing and oil-fluid balancing are needed
  • Person under Stress - Conditions of nervous stress, depression or fatigue where tension is evident, causing muscular pain

Contra-Indications

  • Cuts, abrasiion, acute stings & bites
  • Any evidence of acute inflammation or irritation
  • Extremely vascular skin conditions
  • Hypersensitive skin prone to allergic reaction; known allergy
  • Skin inflection or any contagious "skin disease or disorders
  • Medical disorders that requires medical attention or approval
  • Cancer


Safety Precaution

  • Patch test to be done if client has a history of allergy
  • Ensure products do not slip into the eye or lip
  • Temperature of product is not too hot or cold



Duration of Each Facial Massage

10 to 20 minutes, depending on the condition of the client's physiological skin condition and the pshchological and/or mental state of mind.


Frequency of Facial Massage

Frequency depends upon the condition of the skin, the age of the client, and the condition to be treated. As general rule, normal skin condition may have the facial (with massage) once or twice a month, accompanied by the proper home care.
